Classroom Rules:
In following with our school rules here at Samuel Mickle, I want to carry through with three classroom rules to make my classroom and your child’s a safe and caring place. To make our classroom a positive learning environment the following rules will be followed:
* Be Safe
* Be Responsible
* Be Respectful

Class Behavior Management:
Students will have the opportunity to earn points, known as credits, for showing our Hornet character traits, positive class contribution, and going above and beyond in our learning environment. These credits will be redeemed for in-class rewards.
BUZZ BUCKSBuzz Bucks is a school-wide incentive used to promote our character trait of the month. Each day a buzz buck will be pulled from the buzzworthy bin by an administrator to acknowledge their demonstration of positive character traits. This student will receive a prize. At the end of each month, the buzz bin will be dumped into our school-wide buzzworthy bin and two names will be drawn from each grade level and that student will also receive a prize.

Homework:
Homework is an important part of fourth grade as it serves as practice and repetition of skills taught during class. Homework is intended as practice and should not take students more than thirty minutes to complete. Should your student be struggling with a certain concept, please write me a note and I will work directly with that student to help them the next day. Homework is not graded each night, however, it does count as turned in or not. Each time a homework assignment is not turned in, a five point deduction is taken from the homework average for the marking period. The assignment will be highlighted in your student's HAB to let you know that it was not turned-in.
*Spelling/ Reading Logs: These are assigned weekly and will be due every Friday. The students are responsible for completing 4 activities per week to receive full credit.
*Math: homework of concepts taught in class will be assigned nightly. Typically there is no homework on Fridays.
